Review :: AngelContacts.com (Circle Lenses)

I was contacted by a PR of AngelContacts.com (Brenda) to review 2 pairs of lenses of my choice. At first I was a bit skeptical because, I don't normally wear contact lenses (when I do it's usually clear and I wear them only to the gym - or special occasions) because I am most comfortable with my glasses.
But because I have seen so many beauty guru's blog/vlog about this company, I was very eager to try them out. It was even a bonus when I found out they offered their circle lenses with a prescription. I was hesitant because I have an astigmatism and wasn't sure these were going to work for me. I also have super sensitive eyes that get really dry easily (hence why I don't wear contact lenses all the time).
I have tried many circle lenses in the past which have irritated my eyes right on contact with my eyes.  One time i tried a pair (that were real GEO lenses!!) and they just totally made my eyes blood shot red within an hour of wearing them.  So after that initial experience - I never wanted to wear them again and I did end up throwing away!
so, what are circle lenses you ask? Well just like your typical colored contact lenses (like freshlook/acuvue and whatever other company offers colored contact lenses).. they are cosmetic lenses that change the color of your eyes.. I used to wear them all the time back in high school.. The difference with circle lenses (which these type of lenses are very popular in Asia - where this originally came from before it started spreading here in the states, like many other things -- like BB creams)..
But the difference between circle lenses and regular colored contact lenses.. is that - circle lenses are bigger in diameter to give your eyes a natural and noticeable enlargement to your iris.. meaning - they make your eyes look bigger, more doll like.. which is all the rave in Asia! who wouldn't want to look like a cute pretty dolly eyed beauty?
The only problem was with the first pair i ever tried before - I guess the water content was really low, so it was very drying and didn't let a lot of oxygen pass through. I'm not sure if it was just the type of lens I got.. or if they just made the lenses with better quality.. because the lenses that I got from AngelContacts.com have high water content, meaning it holds on to water more, doesn't dry your eyes out and lets more oxygen pass through to your eyes.. and it's much more comfortable to wear.
I do recommend that you read all the instructions prior to wearing your circle lenses. In the video I briefly show you the card that shows how to open the separate vials of contacts, as well has the little pamphlet it comes with that shows how the lenses should look like when you apply them, the correct way to remove them and the proper way to clean and care for them.  These circle lenses are different than your average colored contact lenses because they supposedly last for one year (compared to 3 months).
This specific company states on their website that their GEO circle lenses are Health Canada certified and US FDA 510(K) approved and are completely safe to wear.  Like I mentioned they contain high water content and are maximized for comfort.  the way they are made allows them for more oxygen to pass through resulting in long lasting comfort.
In the video, I mention you should soak them in regular contact solution instead of wearing right from the vial - I mention this only for safety precautions. I have worn them straight from the vial and nothing did happen to my eyes, but just for your safety - I would definitely recommend soaking them - you know, to clear them from any bacteria or germs. Remember to properly clean your circle lenses as with anything else you put in your eye because these are the only pair of eyes you have!
So I definitely recommend these contact lens company for those that are new to wearing lenses - they are easy to use. Also for anyone who is already a contact lens wearer and wants to add more color to their collection or like myself - just nice to have for nights or special occasions where you wanna glam up!
The shipping was extremely fast! Like I mentioned before, I have ordered circle lenses before from an international company and was not satisfied at how long and tedious the process was (couldn't track my package because it would be too expensive and the company i purchased from did not offer that).
I love how nice and friendly staff is at AngelContacts.com is - with answering any questions etc.. so definitely recommend them to you! and here are some pictures that I took wearing both the GEO Nudy Gray as well as the GEO OL Brown..

Video :: Sigma Dry'N Shape Demo & Review vs Air Drying & Brush Guards

I'm sure plenty of you have heard about Sigma's new Brush Drying system. If you haven't and you own make-up brushes and currently are at wits end when you wash and air dry them.. you don't have to pull your hair out!

I have read on twitter, Sigma launch this latest invention about a month ago - I did purchase this myself with my own money because I honestly dreaded when I had to wash my brushes because they'd never be ready the next day when I needed them when i was to get ready for work.

So when I heard about this revolutionary brush drying system that guaranteed to completely dry my brushes in 4-6 hours - i was like.. I HAVE TO TRY THIS!

I then decided to jump on the band wagon and purchase it. I was skeptical because the Sigmax Brushes (F80, F82, F84) are SO dense - those take like 2-3 days to dry when I would air dry them (with brush guards)

I did a lot of reading about this product that it did in fact dry the Sigmax brushes in 6 hours.

I did a mini Demo with washing my brushes & air drying them - some with brush guards, some with out.. and then i washed my brushes the next day testing the Sigma Shape'N Dry system.. and here is the video so you can see it live:

I must say - the video honestly does not do the Sigma Dry'N Shape justice - cause you can't really see how dry the brushes are compared to when I air-dryed them - when I air dryed the brushes.. they were Still completely wet that i couldn't use them when I was getting ready for work (only the eye brushes dryed, but still took over 8 hours to dry overnight)..

After washing - this was air drying/putting them in brush guards
Brush above - still super wet..

Eye brushes were rather dry though..

this is how i like to use the Dry N' Shape to dry my brushes

but my overall thoughts of this product:

Packaging: 4.5/5
Like I mentioned - Sigma always packages their products so neatly. The product came with really informative brochure on how to use the product and a lot of information on the product itself. I love the box that it came in - their signature 'Sigma Beauty' stamped on it. I am such a fan of their packaging and every little detail they add to make it their own. the Dry'N Shape itself is a sturdy/durable product. the black color makes it very sleek and modern and I like that you can have it hold your brushes as well if you were to travel :)

Quality: 4.5/5
Like I mentioned - extremely durable/sturdy material - at the same time the texture is just so soft! the elastic bands are also sturdy - the make is not flimsy at all. i'm sure i'll get a lot of use from this product. i'm very curious to see how long it will last before you'll notice any wear and tear. but seems very solid.

Usage: 4/5
It's quite simple to use, and they have a video on their youtube channel which i believe shows you how to use it. it comes with a little pamphlet on how to use it as well in the box it comes with. when it is brand new, it is quite difficult to put the brush in because it's so new and tight.. but otherwise - it's a breeze to use.

Overall: 4.5/5
An extremely well rounded product that really does what it promises. dries my brushes in record time. I never have to wait overnight and hope my brushes are ready for me to use when i get ready for work. I will most likely be purchasing another one only because I have so many brushes and i'd like to just wash them once and have them be done! so i definitely recommend this - especially for the price - if you have make-up brushes, hate waiting for them to dry like I do. they also keep your brushes looking like new by keeping them in shape. with the brush guards - they weren't as tight, and still would be wet in the middle that when i'd remove the brush guard - the bristles would just splay everywhere. I like that after washing my brushes - i can take them with me if i needed to use them, knowing they are clean and ready to be used!

Review :: Bausch & Lomb BioTrue Solution

Hello Everyone!

I was contacted a few weeks ago from someone in PR to try out a product. the product is the Bausch & Lomb "Bio True" multi-purpose solution. I have been testing this out for about a little over a week and really have enjoyed using it.

it came with a little tote bag, which i love to use to bring with me to the gym or to my work with little things like my make-up bag, extra contact case, the solution and my eyeglass case (with my eyeglasses of course) just in case i wanted to remove my contacts.

I suffer from severe dry eyes as it is, and i normally use opti-free. so i was a bit hesitant to try something different. I had heard such great things about this particular solution from Pam (xxPinkxx) and so i gave it a go.

Bausch & Lomb was having a giveaway, but had ended on March 27th for a free tote bag - the giveaway was to celebrate their newest innovation (the bio true multipurpose solution)

So the best thing about this contact solution is that it is made and has a lubricant that is naturally found in your eyes. which is a plus for me because i have super dry eyes! and usually sometimes other contact lens solutions dry my eyes out (AOSept being one of them).

the formula matches the pH of healthy tears and keeps certain beneficial tear proteins active. I am very impressed with the qualities of BioTrue because after using this for 1.5 weeks i noticed my eyes are not as dry as usual and i didn't have to use rewetting drops as much as when i was using other contact solutions.

Packaging: 5/5
I really really really loved the packaging! i think because it was different than your typical white bottle of solution, it was clear and it gave it a little more pizazz to it lol. i had the sample size and i know they do sell the smaller ones, which i love because i can tote it around in my purse and for on the go!

Quality: 4/5
I enjoyed using this product quite a bit. i noticed the quality of the solution itself was more lubricating and more thicker. not sticky though. after the first few uses i noticed my eyes weren't as dry (but they normally are ALWAYS dry) and when i wore my contacts i didn't have to use rewetting drops as often. it didn't sting my eyes at all which was awesome! because theres nothing worse than sticking a contact in your eye and it stinging the bahjeezers out of it!

Usage: 4/5
it was really easy to use, real easy to bring along with me. only gripe about it was the cap. sometimes it was hard to take off with one hand (i usually do that with my others) but i did like that it was not the twist off type. but just harder than usual to take off. otherwise - it's self explanatory on how to use it - it does come with instructions in the box incase you are new to using contact solution or wearing contacts.

Overall 4.5/5
Overall - i absolutely loved this product! i did notice a different that it really worked well with my eyes making me want to use contacts more! kept my eyes lubricated more than regular contact solutions, it was easy to use, didn't bother my eyes at all and it was just a pleasure having!

I only got the smaller sample sized bottle, but when this runs out i will definitely be switching from my current contact solution to BioTrue!

and if you'd like to try this solution to, here's a link for a $1.00 off coupon!

if you end up purchasing this - let me know your thoughts!

Review :: HairFlairs :: Add some Flair to your hair!

Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile - but i've been swamped with work, family and my other website (check it out if you can - worldformoms.com) we've got tons of contests going on and what not! so if you know any mommies, any pregnant friends - do send them to my mommy community! :) and also it was my 25th birthday on september 22nd.. so yea! lol ;) i'll post another entry on that separately..

So i had received these Hair Flairs, from www.HairFlairs.com and wanted to let you all know my thoughts on this product. Which are basically Hair Tinsels.. or "Hair Bling"

Firstly - I think this is a great alternative for those that do not want to color their hair and what not.. You just tie them into your hair to add color, sparkle and metallic highlights.

I'll tell you though to do your whole head is quite time consuming. but really neat since it's halloween right around the corner and you can just get crazy with the colors! But if you're only going to do a few here and there.. it should be quick depending on your skill level.. they have a video on how to put them on too.. on yourself or on someone.. which is really cool.. you can actually view the instructions (text and video) Here :: http://www.hairflairs.com/Directions_For_Use.html

So they have a wide variety of colors to choose from, with Sparkle gold being their biggest seller. In the package that i received, I Got Sparkle Gold and Sparkle Royal Blue. They have 18 or 19 other colors on their website if you are interested, definitely take a look at them!

What they claim:
  • Used by more pro stylists in salons
  • Tie-in Hair Tinsel or Hair Bling
  • Lasts 1 - 6 weeks
  • You can shampoo, condition, blow-dry
  • Use flat-iron, curling iron  up to 400 degrees!
  • No loose strands! Manufactured for professional use attached to stylist clips
  • 100% Custom Made in the USA

And here are some pictures of the products i received..

And my daughter Jasmyn was my little model :) she had tons of fun..
Khristianna let me put some in her hair, but she was shy on camera lol

My Thoughts : Honestly - at first, i thought.. hmm interesting.. i didn't go onto the website or look at the instructions when i first opened the package because i was rather intrigued on what it was and thought you just tie a knot onto your hair LOL! but then i decided to not be lazy and check out the website and read the instructions and watched the video to comprehend lol.. although it says it depends on your skill level the easier it'd be to put them on. i think it does take some practice because it took me FOREVER to put one darn strand in my hair at first. it's best when your hair is wet though because it's more easy as there are no flyaways getting in your way.

so if you read the instructions, they are real easy to use. you can use them if you have short hair or long hair - short hair, just cut the strand in half and get more for the price!

and the price is

  • 36" inch, 60-strands, $10.00 FREE shipping
  •  36" inch, 100-strands, $12.00 FREE shipping
  • also have different packages - check website for more information

Which actually is such a good price for these! you get a lot and they do last quite awhile! the color selection is really nice - they have many colors to choose from (19). they are really great quality and do last through flat -ironing and when i blow-dried my hair..

But for me personally - i wouldn't use the other vibrant colors for work maybe for a special occasion or halloween etc.. but definitely the golds etc i can do.. it's a cool concept as i never knew there was hair bling out there before.. i've heard of many things - but not these! by far - really cool to have and definitely recommend them for someone who wants to try something new to their hair and just have some fuN!

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures of my Daughter.. don't worry it's NOT haircolor! it's hair tinsels and completely harmless.. and to take them off.. they come off on their own in 1-6 weeks depending on the strength of the knot! :) so no worries - nothing permanent.. plus my girls had a blast!

MyFitBeauty Grade :: 4/5 Stars and would recommend to those that may be wanting to try something new to their hair without worrying about damaging their hair or any chemicals. easy to use once you get the hang of it, but even better when you have friends to do it with!

Looking for Skincare recommendations? MySkin.com!

The other day I came across a website, because some of you who know me, or follow me on twitter, have seen me tweet that i'm looking for moisturizers, facial wash and just looking into skincare products lately.. I came across MySkin.com and it was pretty interesting!

I noticed that they had been mentioned in Marie Claire Magazine and on about.com and it really drew my attention. i then noticed a couple of fellow beauty bloggers where on their community blog roll and i knew this website had to be good.

Basically what the website is (from using it myself) it's a website where you plug in your skincare product you use from a wide variety of products they have to choose from.. and then you kind of get recommendations based on your skin type and skin issues.. they give you some great product recommendations based on the information you put. you don't have to put any personal information (like your birthday etc).. and it's free and easy to do this!

i put all the skin care products that i use and rated them/gave my opinion on them on how they are working for me.. and then after i hit submit, they recommended a few products for tons of different categories (ie. facial cleansers, toners, moisturizers, eye creams, masks, etc)..

It's kind of like the "makeupalley" of skincare product recommendations! MySkin.com gives you a free skin assessment, product recommendations and so much more (including a community for other members to mingle and talk about skin care products and tips/advice)

I'm really happy i did find the website! cause now i have tons of options to choose from that i can kind of gauge and see what i'd like to use depending on the reviews etc.. i know this skin care journey is going to be mainly trial and error, but at least i know i've got some great recommendations for my skin type and my issues..

so if you're looking for a skin regimen just for you,  a skin assessment, some product recommendations or wanting to talk to other people who are in the same boat - you definitely want to check out this website! afterall, it's FREE!

if you end up joining the website and using any of the product recommendations - please let me know how YOU like it!

P.S. I know i'm totally lagging on some promised video's.. but i've been SO busy with my daughter starting preschool, my youngest one also starting ballet.. then it's my birthday in 4 days yikes! but i promise to have some videos/tutorials soon! :) till next time!
