House of Lashes :: Noir Fairy

A few days ago I had posted a picture of me using House of Lashes :: Noir Fairy lashes. I purchased them a few weeks ago because of my favorite MUA Julie - Pala foxxia on Youtube always uses them in her pictures.. so NO I'm not sponsored by them (i wish!) I just really like these particular lashes! and NO I was not sent these products to review etc.. I purchased with my own money!

So many people have asked me what lashes they are and where did I get it from etc etc.. so I promised I'd post about it!

Me using "Noir Fairy" Lashes from HouseofLashes!

And a closer look without the filters:

I Love how these lashes are really dense and can make your look ultra dramatic.. and it truly does draw attention to your eyes. My husband, when he saw me wearing these said my eyes looked super sexy and my eyelashes looked extra batty haha :D

I'm not used to such thick eyelashes (i usually just wear the thin/natural ones) but these were great, easy to use and didn't bother me (lol and I did wear these with my glasses cause I was too lazy to put on contact lenses)..

Let me know if you get these and what you think of them! :)

First Impressions :: UD Naked Basics Palette

Hi Everyone! So I'm pretty sure most of you are aware that Urban Decay came out with their newest "matte" palette called the Naked Basics Palette.

Their first MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals to build on or wear alone—including four never-before-seen shades.

picture I had posted on our Instagram Page

Retails: $27.00
Description from the UrbanDecay.com Website:
Naked Basics is more than just the long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to Naked. It’s the palette EVERY woman needs in her beauty arsenal. With six stripped-down, Nakedly neutral shadows, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye—including four totally new and exclusive shades.

Use these shadows to contour, line and highlight to create the right amount of definition for any occasion. Or for the days when you’re craving more color, pair them with your fiercest, boldest shadows. Richer than other mattes, the color goes on with a smooth, luxe finish (never chalky or powdery). There’s even one demi-matte shade, Venus, which has the tiniest touch of satin—perfect for highlighting and adding dimension.

While this palette is small, we loaded it with full-size shadow pans, just like our other Naked palettes. Every shade features our Pigment Infusion System™, a vehicle for color that holds tightly to pigment and gives the formula its glide. The proprietary blend of ingredients allows color to weave itself through the Eyeshadow formula. What does all that mean? Insane color payout. Color that stays on your lids. Sparkle that doesn’t fall. And velvety, suede-like smoothness and blendability.

It all comes in a sleek compact (embossed with a pretty, metallic “NAKED” on the front) that has a slight sheen and a suede-like feel that practically begs to be touched. (Hello…how gorgeous will THAT look coming out of your bag?!) Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel—so you’ll never have to be without these must-have shades.

What you see is what you get: Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (cream bisque matte), Walk of Shame (very light nude matte), Naked2 (taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte) and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte).

Fill Weight: 6 x 1.3g e 6 x 0.05 US oz

And here are pictures & swatches:

This was their secret sample they gave out as well:
New Beauty Balm

I think this is a great palette. The size is awesome and very travel friendly. The packaging is quite sturdy which I love.. and as you can see from the photo above, it's tiny enough to fit in your purse. But don't let it's small size fool you! The pigmentation for such a tiny palette packs a punch. The shadows feel buttery and smooth like all of Urban Decay's eye shadows. This is a great palette to have because even though there are only 6 shades, you can still do quite a variety of looks.. from neutral/natural to downright smokey.

I'll be posting some looks soon so you can see how versatile this small palette is. I know some people are like ehh, whatever with this palette.. but you can compare this palette to the other two (which I did a review & comparison HERE)

I really like this palette so far! so I'm really glad I got my grubby little hands on this.. it's perfect for me because I like doing neutral/natural looks, but I like how you can go into the darker colors to spice up your look.

Did you get this palette? Are you going to? What are your thoughts?

8 New Limited Edition Maybelline 24Hr Color Tattoos Review & Swatches

So this post is SOO long overdue (talking about september lol) but any who , I stumbled upon these at target (the brighter colored ones) and then another 4 shades at Rite Aid... I already am a big fan of the original color tattoos (See review HERE) and so I knew I had to have these when I came across them.  Luckily I had a gift card to both places (and I believe Rite Aid is BOGO 1/2 off on Maybelline right now).. Maybelline's new Fall 2012 collection is beautiful (new palettes, but I didn't pick any up this time)..

So Here are some pictures..

The Display at Target - these bright colored ones have a matching colored mascara.  These color tattoos were priced at $5.84.

The Display at Rite Aid - These beautiful fall shades were priced at $6.69 and were accompanied by a variety of new products (from palettes to lipsticks, blushes etc)..

From the 2012 Jewel Tone (bright colors) Collection:
- Ready, Set, Green
- Blue on By
- Fuschia Fever
- Test My Teal

From the 2012 Fall Fashion Week (neutral colors) Collection:
- Barely Beige
- Gold Shimmer
- Mossy Green
- Rich Mahogany

And bring on the swatches:

Pros:
- inexpensive
- last long
- can use as a base or wear alone as an eyeshadow
- a lot of product

Cons:
- some colors don't perform as well (some can be splotchy, the really glittery ones)
- some people have complained they crease (not that I have experienced that)
- Hard to find (displays only have a few in stock) - luckily i was literally the first person to grab these at both stores when the sales associate barely just put them up.

Overall, I definitely would recommend these. They are fairly inexpensive and get the job done and last for a long time. These did not make my eyelids feel dry at all despite the long wear.  I did not experience any creasing with these whatsoever (as some people have experienced, and i myself have somewhat oily lids, especially in hot weather).. These are great to wear alone or as a base and they are great to wear together (the bright colors together and the fall shades go beautifully and accompany each other very well)

See how much I LOVE the color tattoos? My Collection!

Do you have any? if you do what are some of your favorites?

Review :: Maybelline 24/7 Color Tattoo with Swatches

So, if you remember from my huge collective haul blog post and video, I have all 10 eyeshadows of the Maybelline 24/7 Color Tattoo Cream eyeshadows.

I wanted to give my input/review and share my swatches with those that still do not have them yet or are on the fence about getting them, or just want to see swatches!

I did purchase these with my own money, I did not purchase them all at once. I had to find these in different stores and a lot of times the drugstores I found them in were having sales which really helped. The cheapest that i've found them is at Target.

Review :: NYX Cosmetics :: Part 2 Eyeshadow Palettes

Hey There all! :) So here is the continuation of my previous post. I had received the items all together, but figured it'd be better to split the posts up.

The three eyeshadow palettes I chose to review from nyxcosmetics.com were:
(you can find these here: http://nyxcosmetics.com/index.php?pf=ESP10C)
- Velvet Rope Eyeshadow palette
- Champagne & Caviar eyeshadow palette
- Jazz night eyeshadow palette

The palettes are described on the NYXCosmetics.com website as:
"These 10 color palettes contains the original best selling NYX shadows in one sleek case for design, storage and mobility. Whether you are looking for various color combinations or a palette suited for your particular eye color, then look no further! As with our popular eyeshadows, this product offers bold colors, high pigmentation and lasting wear."

Velvet Rope Palette - $11.00 (on website) -
This palette has 10 eyeshadows and is one of their newest colors that will join the Runway collection. Most of you that have been followers of my blog know that i LOVE purple eyeshadows! and so of course i was super excited I had the chance to review this palette.. a variety of plums/purples for those ladies on the go and want to bring the palette in your purse for quick touchups. very easy to use! pigmented colors, such a variety in such a sleek small palette.

Packaging: 3.5/5
Nothing too fancy, which i like. I love how sleek and portable this palette is. it's really thin but at the same time sturdy enough to stay in your purse and not get  messed up. I love how it comes with a mirror!

Quality: 4/5
I LOVE the quality of the eyeshadows in this palette. maybe i'm a bit biased because i'm a purple eyeshadow/color lover lol.. but amazing quality for such an amazing price. the swatches above are without a base, can you imagine how vivid they would be WITH an eyeshadow base or primer? amazing!

Usage: 4/5
Easy to use, easy to bring on the go and love how it has a mirror with it. there was minimal fall out on like one or two eyeshadows, and same with chalkiness. but super easy to use. i like how convenient this palette is to carry around (have i said that enough lol)

Overall: 4/5
I'd definitely recommend this eyeshadow palette for those that love a variety of purples in one palette that you can easily tote around in your purse or clutch for easy touch ups. great for those starting out in makeup that want a palette that's easy to use, great quality and that's budget friendly.

Champagne & Caviar palette - $11.00 (on website) -
I chose this palette to review because i really do like neutral colors for days where i'm just too much in a hurry trying to get out the door i just like to put a simple wash of color on my lids and go. it's nothing compared to my urban decay naked palette, but it'll suffice. it's smaller, sleeker and works just as well.  great for those that need an office friendly make-up palette and don't feel like spending $40 for one. this has 10 eyeshadows that range from neutral and has a few darker shades for those that want to mix up their look and go from day to night.

don't mind my eyebrows lol ;D

Quality: 5/5
Amazing Quality for such budget friendly price. a variety of neutrals and browns to go with any look. some mattes, shimmery, frost/satin like textures in this palette. i really find myself reaching for this palette the most because i'm always in a hurry and find myself making endless neutral looks and i can go from day to night with this palette in a jif.

Overall: 4.5/5
I really like this palette because of the ease of use and just because i love neutrals and most days when i'm at work that's the look i do. and when i want to change it up and do dramatic smokey look, i can do it with this palette. i never had a problem with lasting power on this palette (nor the others) but i always wear a primer/base while using this. I definitely would recommend this palette for those that can't afford the naked palette but at the same time want something to use for every day looks.

Jazz Night palette - $11.00 (on website) -
this palette i chose because I don't have very many colors like this. I normally don't wear too many blues but i thought I needed a variety in my collection and I already love the quality of NYX products that i chose this palette.

Packaging: 3.5/5
Nothing too fancy, which i like. I love how sleek and portable this palette is. it's really thin but at the same time sturdy enough to stay in your purse and not get  messed up. I love how it comes with a mirror! and a spongetip applicator for easy use when your on the go.

Quality: 3/5
This palette was the least pigmented of the bunch. althought the colors were lovely in pan, applied on the skin i had to really pack it on. but when i did layer it - the colors on top were mainly metallic finished. the colors on the bottom row were darker, slightly chalky. only one of the colors were just too glittery/chunky so there was a lot of fall out.

Usage: 3/5
Easy to use, easy to bring on the go and love how it has a mirror with it. I had higher hopes for this palette because of the variety of colors, but i didn't quite like the finish of these without really packing them on.

Overall: 3/5
Although this palette had a variety of dark colors to use for a variety of looks, the colors weren't as pigmented as i'd hope. but i think this palette would be better suited for those with cool tones... i'd recommend this if you like metallic colors, blues or are cool toned.

I'm going to be having a giveaway (sponsored by NYX Cosmetics). I want to elaborate on the rules and so i'll be making a separate post for it! so STAY TUNED - you WON'T want to miss this giveaway! hope you all had an awesome weekend!
