and let me tell you, when i got the products, i honestly laughed out loud a bit.. because they just look hilarious! but after using them.. well i had to stop while eating because they got really heavy and really did make eating into an exercise! lol..
the website describes the product:
"THE PRODUCT
Knife and Fork Lift™ is a combination of utensils and dumbbells that serve as a constant reminder that eating puts weight on and requires exercise to take it off. Lifting food with these utensils is like doing curls with dumbbells. Weight: 1.5 lbs each. Height: 9""
Okay, so i know you're all probably thinking.. um khristine - they are only 1.5lbs each.. well yes they are.. but having to use them (and i eat slow haha) lactic acid starts building up and they tend to start feeling really heavy about midway though my meal - cutting steak/chicken started to really become a mini-workout LOL..
i showed this to my brother and his girlfriend, who were actually quite amused with the product! i think it'd be a great gift for someone who's states they are wanting to start going on a diet, or eating healthy, or start exercising! LOL this is a perfect gift!
the set for the fork and knife is $39.95 + shipping, and i just checked on their website - they have just added a spoonlift!
and they sell that separately for $14.95 all in USD. you might want to check their website to see their official rates and shipping faq's.
Packaging 4/5
it came in a fitted box wrapped in bubble wrap. nothing really fancy - but they were quite heavy together..
Quality 3/5
these are quite sturdy for what they are, but the little bottom part kept coming off, it wasn't hard to fix, but it was rather annoying.. otherwise - sturdy and does the job.
Usage 4/5
pretty self explanatory - use like any regular eating utensil - just a bit heavier after awhile! but totally worth the workout! haha
Overall 4/5
this is a great gift idea for a friend or family member that you think might enjoy this - as a motivating/start off point to diet/get into exercising lol.. or heck even a gag gift for a friend/family member (because that's what my brother and his gf thought this might be a really good gift for)..
i don't use this all the time though to be honest, but when i do, i try to really use it for the whole meal.. if i'm being real lazy - i'll switch to regular utensils.. but often times i lose my appetite haha - so i guess it does work in supressing your appetite and prevent you from over eating!
if you do decide to get this - let me know what you think! I'm always curious to see if my reviews help/not help in purchasing something!
