Gym Session :: 05/29/11

So My Husband & I wanted to start our day early, by heading to the Gym. We are still in the process of building our Home Gym and although we do have 2 squat racks and a bench, Plus 300lb Barbell set. We are really waiting to get our dumbbells in before I we can really do anything at home. 


Hubby has been doing tons of research on the best kind of dumbbell set/rack for us and I think he may have found the perfect ones lol.. we'll see! If any of you would like to see our set up (of what we kinda have right now) i'd love to show you, just comment down below to let me know!


So I have been losing some weight and unfortunately, when you lose weight - you sorta lose strength lol.. bummer! incase some of you have been noticing the decrease in weight i've been lifting, that's why.. but i'm going to keep going to the gym - it's bikini season and i'm far from ready lol..


anywho We did Legs, Biceps and Abs today.. I did some shoulder rehab work with this spiffy cable machine, hope to save up for one of those one day. My Husband has an injured shoulder and he's been doing some rehab work on it, and i recently injured my shoulder as well (not as bad as my Hubby's) and he suggested I do some rehab workouts as well. 


Legs:

- Squats (with olympic bar + weights) 115lbs - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Romanian Deadlifts (olympic bar + weights) 115lbs - 3 sets of 8 repetitions
i couldn't do stiff legged deadlifts because it's just too much for my knee to handle and i don't want to injure it again. 
- Leg Curls on Machine (laying on my tummy) - 60lbs 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Calves:
- Standing Calf Raises on Machine  140lbs - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

Biceps:
- Alternating Seated Dumbbell Curl - 15lbs each hand - 5 sets of 5 repetitions
- Standing Hammer Curls - 15lbs each hand - 3 sets of 8 repetitions

I also added in some abs with the weighted ab machine (35lbs) 3 sets of 12 repetitions. I also did 3 sets of 30 crunches on the regular ab machine. 

it was quite a tough workout for me today, but glad i went through with it. I'm going to the beach tomorrow as My Husband & I are going to watch a body building competition and also he's going to train with a friend of his. im not sure if i'll workout there too.. we'll see! 

But i think we're off to IKEA right now, going to try to spiff up the home! anywho, i'm trying to make more videos for you all to see, but my macbook pro is not able to handle my video's (especially in HD) lol as it's super low on RAM/HD space.. Hubby is wanting to get the newest iMAC as he'll be using it as well to edit his fitness videos.. which i'll be posting here on my blog as well for you all to see and use as inspiration! :)
