Tutorial :: Soft Smokey Eye for Date night

So if you've seen my latest blog post (about My baby shower) I was asked to do a tutorial on the look I was wearing. I decided to also wear that same look (minus the lipstick) for Valentine's Day Dinner date with My Husband. I decided to skip the lipstick because we were going out to dinner and I didn't want anything on my lips lol... but I thought it was perfect for a date night look :) you can dress up the look with lashes, lipsticks etc.. but thought the soft smokey eye was perfect enough :)

Someone tell me why, Youtube always picks the ugliest thumbnails for me LOL

Products used for tutorial:
FACE:

Maybelline Dream lumi touch highlighting concealer (for under eye brightening/highlighting) in 330 Nude
Sheercover Duo concealer (used for around the nose) in light/medium
Bourjois Health mix serum gel foundation in 53 light beige
Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup in Nirvana
Maybelline Master Shape eyebrow pencil in Deep Brown
MAC Espresso eyeshadow (to set eyebrows)

Eyes:
Urban Decay Mariposa Palette "Rockstar" & "Infamous" (in the crease)
Urban Decay Mariposa Palette "Skimp" all over the lid
Urban Decay Naked2 Palette "Busted" outer corner/outer crease
Urban Decay Naked2 Palette "tease" blending/transition color

Maybelline Line stiletto liquid eyeliner in Blackest Black

Cheeks:
Tarte amazonian clay 12 hr blush in Exposed
Milani Illuminating face powder in Amber Nectar (as highlight)

Lips:
Just chapstick (EOS lipbalm)

NOTE:
Now the look at the end with the hot pink lipstick (is the look I wore to my baby shower), I used the same colors for the eyes above, except I contoured my face with Too Faced chocolate soleil bronzer and the lipstick I used was MAC Quick Sizzle and the eyelashes I was wearing was from the brand Kiss in 03. I had switched out the Milani highlighter I used, and used my Dior shimmer powder in Amber Diamond 002 to highlight.

All of these colors are quite dupable if you have any of those 88 palettes/elf palettes etc. and the lipstick is kind of similar to Milani Rose Hip if you couldn't get your hands on Quick Sizzle.

  1. Quick sizzle looks great on you! Now I wish I had gotten that since we're about the same color. I'll have to check rose hip thenifbi can't find quick sizzle. Btw, did u pick up VG Nicki? I am thinking about getting it as I've seen another blogger with the same foundation shade as us and it looked nice on her since it's a yellow toned pink.

  2. Thank you Krystyle! This was my first time wearing a bold lippie out in public/where other people would see me LoL! And I did like how it looked, I was surprised. I didn't pick up VG Nicki cause I honestly thought it would look nasty on me LOL.. I wanna see the blogger with the same skin as us! maybe i'll think about getting it.. i mean, if you buy it, it's for a good cause right? LOL :D

  3. I know what you mean. I'm not used to bold lips lol. I totally forgot which blog but if I remember, I will let you know. I've been hearing that one of the new Wet 'N' wild megalast lipsticks from the 2012 line is a dupe for it. I think the shade is Pinkerbell so I might give it a try first before shelling out 14.50 for it but you are right, it is for a good cause :)

  4. Yea let me know if you can find her, if not no biggie!

And if you do find that the wet n wild is a dupe - let me know.. i would definitely give that a go instead of shelling 14.50 even if it's for a good cause (cause you know how we are - beauty junkies on a budget lol)

  10. Hi! Thank you Redalepou :)

The maybelline concealer really does wonders for brightening up that area. I haven't tried it alone (without the MAC one) so I can't say for certain it's good for covering up dark circles since I only use it to brighten.. but it is really useful and inexpensive! :)

    Thank you for stopping by!
